Hit Your Target

My interest in performance has always gone beyond the workplace.

I have always been fascinated by sport, focus and what enables people to perform well under pressure.

That curiosity led to the development of my Hit Your Target model.

The idea came from working with a client and friend who runs long-range sniper target shooting days. I had never fired a rifle before, but with the right guidance, focus and conditions, I was able to hit a target over a mile away.

It taught me something simple but powerful:

Performance is not just about trying harder.

It is about clarity, alignment, state, environment and knowing what to focus on at the right moment.

That is the principle behind Hit Your Target.

It is also the question behind my podcast:

What is the difference that makes the difference?

Through conversations with high-performing individuals, leaders and people who have taken brave or unconventional paths, I explore what really helps people grow, adapt and succeed.

My Career

Supporting small businesses is close to my heart.

I grew up in a family of business owners, so I understand the realities of running a company. The pressure, the risk, the responsibility, the problem-solving, and the joy of building something that matters.

With over a decade of experience across private, public and purpose-led organisations, including senior leadership roles in local government and education, I have seen what helps people and businesses thrive.

Great people.

Clear vision and values.

Strong leadership.

Honest conversations.

And a culture that supports both performance and humanity.

My Own Turning Point
What I Do

I work with senior leaders, business owners and individuals navigating growth, complexity and big life transitions.

My belief is simple: true leadership starts with leading yourself.

Whether you are scaling a business, leading a team, rethinking your career or trying to find your way back to yourself, sustainable performance only happens when it is built on clarity, self-awareness and the ability to respond well under pressure.

I combine coaching, mentoring, behavioural insight and practical strategy to help people understand what is really driving their thoughts, decisions and behaviour.

I will challenge you when you need it, support you when it matters, and help you turn insight into action.

I know the power of this work from personal experience.

There was a point in my own life where, on paper, everything looked fine. But underneath, I had lost sight of who I was, what mattered to me and what I wanted next.

Coaching and NLP helped me reconnect with myself, rebuild my confidence and create a clearer path forward.

That experience shaped the way I work now.

I am continually pursuing a better version of myself too. Not in a “never good enough” way, but in the sense of staying curious, stretching myself and asking better questions.

Matthew McConaughey captured this idea brilliantly in his 2014 Oscars speech when he talked about his hero always being himself “10 years away”. The point was not about perfection. It was about always having someone to keep chasing.

That idea has stayed with me.

Growth is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more of who you are capable of being.

As part of my own development, I completed public speaking training with Tre Lowe from BBC's The Apprentice and GB News. That experience opened up new opportunities, gave me the confidence to share my voice more widely, and led to some fantastic guests joining me on my podcast including Tre himself.

Alongside my consultancy work, I have worked as a Lecturer for HR apprentices and CIPD students, and I am also a volunteer business mentor on the government-backed Help to Grow: Management programme.

I love sharing knowledge, making complex people issues feel practical, and supporting the next generation of HR professionals and business leaders.

Away From Work

When I am not working or parenting, you will usually find me on the tennis court, in the gym, or outdoors with my husband, son and our elderly Springador, Dexter.

Sport, movement and time outside are a big part of how I stay grounded.

They remind me that performance is not just about ambition. It is also about energy, recovery, connection and enjoying the life you are working hard to build.
